Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, or burnout take over. You might be avoiding things, losing motivation, overthinking, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. Therapy should help you understand what’s happening — and give you real skills that make your day-to-day life easier.

I provide practical, evidence-based therapy (ERP, CBT, DBT, ACT) tailored to your situation. I won’t just listen — I’ll help you develop tools, reduce symptoms, feel more in control, and move forward with confidence.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk about what you’re going through and create a plan that actually helps.

Daniel Edwards, LCSW, is a licensed mental health therapist with 17 years of clinical experience specializing in OCD treatment (ERP), anxiety therapy, trauma recovery, and grief counseling.
He is a Certified Anxiety Therapist, a Certified Grief Counselor, and holds an Expert Certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma and PTSD.

Before entering private practice, Daniel spent seven years at the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Mental Health Supervisor, where he provided therapy for veterans facing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity loss while also leading and training multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Daniel’s primary clinical focus is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—the gold-standard treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. He works with clients who struggle with contamination OCD, harm OCD, intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, checking behaviors, scrupulosity, relationship OCD (ROCD), and somatic fears.
He is also the author of the forthcoming book My Anxiety Journal, a guided tool for managing worry, overwhelm, and avoidance.

In addition to OCD therapy, Daniel provides evidence-based treatment for generalized anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and burnout. He integrates ERP, CBT, DBT skills, ACT, and trauma-informed approaches to help clients build resilience and create meaningful change.

Daniel provides therapy to clients in Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Downers Grove, Westmont, Elmhurst, Oak Brook, and surrounding Illinois communities. Virtual therapy sessions are also available for clients throughout the state of Illinois.
